Swimming has always been a passion for me. I started swimming competitively when I was 5 years old. Growing up, I was raised by a single mom and she was the best mom she could be but did have to work a lot. Swimming became my sanctuary. Practice was every night and almost every weekend there was a swim meet. It became more than just my sport; it became my life. I was never the fastest swimmer on the team, nor did I go to state every year like most of my friends. But, I showed up and did what I could.

Swimtastic Stories: From Competition to Teaching

I’ve swam throughout my childhood, learning how to float in the lake when I was young, taking lessons until I was 8, and then transitioning to swim team after that. When I turned 16, I started teaching lessons, and now I’m 18 and still teaching lessons. Being a swim teacher is the best job that I never knew I wanted until I started!

Do You Know What the Teachers Think?

When you think of Swimtastic what comes to mind? Do you just think of swim lessons or another stop in your busy week? From our customers' view, it is a neat place to take your kids for swim lessons. This is where your kids are going to learn to swim. This is the place where they are going to get over their fear of water. But, have you seen the other side of it? Do you know what the teachers think and how much they are really a part of your kids' lives, or even how much your kids have impacted us? Swimtastic is all about building healthy relationships - with the community, with the water and swimming, with one another, and among ourselves. Those relationships start with your kids but they are also a huge part of supporting the school's friendly, family atmosphere.
